The price of gold in Chennai has declined again today. The price of 22-carat gold jewellery has decreased by\u00a0Rs 640 per sovereign<\/strong>, bringing the rate to\u00a0Rs 1,20,960 per sovereign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Last week, gold and silver prices saw a sharp rise due to geopolitical tensions, as the\u00a0United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran<\/strong>, with Iran retaliating. However, over the past few days, prices of precious metals have begun to ease slightly.<\/p>\n In Tamil Nadu, on March 3, gold jewellery was sold at\u00a0Rs 15,465 per gram and Rs 1,23,720 per sovereign<\/strong>, while silver was priced at Rs 315 per gram.<\/p>\n On\u00a0March 4<\/strong>, gold prices declined further. The price fell by\u00a0Rs 265 per gram<\/strong>, bringing it down to\u00a0Rs 15,200 per gram<\/strong>. The sovereign price dropped by\u00a0Rs 2,120<\/strong>, reaching\u00a0Rs 1,21,600<\/strong>. Silver prices also decreased by\u00a0Rs 20 per gram<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0Rs 295<\/strong>, while the price per kilogram fell by\u00a0Rs 20,000<\/strong>, settling at\u00a0Rs 2.95 lakh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Continuing the downward trend, today (March 5) the price of 22-carat gold jewellery has dropped by\u00a0Rs 80 per gram<\/strong>, and it is now being sold at\u00a0Rs 15,120 per gram<\/strong>.
