On March 2, one sovereign (22-carat) was priced at\u00a0<strong>Rs.1,25,280<\/strong>, which dropped to\u00a0<strong>Rs.1,23,720<\/strong>\u00a0on March 3,\u00a0<strong>Rs.1,21,600<\/strong>\u00a0on March 4, and\u00a0<strong>Rs.1,20,960<\/strong>\u00a0on March 5. Continuing the downward trend today, the price of\u00a0<strong>22-carat<\/strong>\u00a0gold jewellery has decreased by\u00a0<strong>Rs.1,280 per sovereign<\/strong>\u00a0and is now being sold at\u00a0<strong>Rs.1,19,680<\/strong>. The price per gram has fallen by\u00a0<strong>Rs.160<\/strong>\u00a0and is currently\u00a0<strong>Rs.14,960<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Silver prices have also declined today. The price of silver has dropped by Rs.5 per gram and is now being sold at\u00a0<strong>Rs.290 per gram<\/strong>\u00a0in Chennai. Meanwhile, bar silver is priced at\u00a0<strong>Rs.2,90,000<\/strong>.
